Life at the Chelsea Festival continues in earnest this Autumn with two events. Invitations will be sent in early September to Friends of the Chelsea Festival to the annual Mayor's reception to be held on Tuesday 28 October at the Town Hall in Hornton Street, London W8. We are once again indebted to the Mayor of the Royal Borough for hosting this annual 'end of term' event. This evening will include a reception and a short performance.
This is a Friends only event, and we hope that it will trigger those of you who have been intending to join the Friends to sign up for membership. A number of new initiatives are planned for the Friends of the Chelsea Festival in the coming year and we hope you will join our growing number of supporters.
NEW NEW NEW! We are also delighted to announce an extra event that will take place on Thursday 16 October at St Luke's Church, Sydney Street, London SW3 6NH. Following a series of recent uplifting festival concerts featuring music from different musical traditions, the remarkable Shichiseikai Buddhist monks from Japan will be giving us an insight into their timeless music and ceremonies. This promises to be a truly uplifting and mesmerizing evening. Booking [is now open] on-line, by post and by phone at the festival box office 0845 890 2435. more info...
Looking forward to 2009, the Festival programme will be announced at Easter and Friends of the Chelsea Festival will be invited to the annual launch event. Full details of this and of the Friends Spring Talk will be sent out early in the New Year.
